The future of web development lies in the foundation of web developers and their knowledge in web development languages and scripts. Popular scripts such as React have transformed the landscape of web development over the past years.

Ionic’s Developer Survey revealed that hybrid is overtaking traditional native development; two years ago, 20 percent of developers were building with native tools, but in the next two years it could fall significantly.

An increasing number of developers are also working on PWAs, which allows for cross platform development in the mobile applications. Native app tools are slowly making their way out of the market to give way to cross web development tools which is a significant improvement on the web development space

“It may be counter-intuitive to some, but the web is increasingly important to mobile user experiences,” noted Max Lynch, co-founder and CEO, Ionic.
